News: "VIVARIUM" has begun serialization!
After ten years, the story binding my music projects has finally begun to be told.
From the ashes of Shirou Novaleinn to the blossom of World's Last Garden, the universe of VIVARIUM has always existed.
It's somewhat a miracle that, ten years after the conception of PARANOIA FUTURE_DATA, it's a web novel that finally brings it to life, right where it started. In the very beginning, I had written chapters in a way to materialize the plot and universe during class while listening to albums like Daydreamer's Senses or Porter Robinson's Worlds.
As time went on, the development and approach I had for PARANOIA FUTURE_DATA was more grand than a 17-year-old could ever pull off. The idea of a vast open world with seamless integration of a city in the sky, only the likes of games such as Tears of the Kingdom can pull off.
Then came along Embers, the first "adaptation" of the story, which loosely told the events in a sort of roundabout way that kind of beat around the bush. Things that, years later, don't at all resemble anything that the story is now.
Then came along World's Last Garden, which from the beginning was always about adapting pieces of the story with Connections, Promise of the Witch, and Daydream Days. But when working on my first album as World's Last Garden finally came along, the concept of VIVARIUM was born.
Originally a story rewrite of Embers, it became its own standout piece with time that didn't really resemble any story at all other than my own personal struggles, dropping the VIVARIUM name in 2021.
But the development of VIVARIUM's story did not stop there. Since 2020, I have worked so vehemently in favor of fleshing out the world and story. What was once a simple one-shot story in the back of a teenager's mind has become a fully fleshed out story.
By some point, VIVARIUM became much more demanding for story and more materialized with story points, technology ideas, atmosphere and landscapes, just to name some parts. PF_D, even up until now, has largely just been characters, world, and technology, with story being the part I always struggled to write.
One day, however, it all came together. I knew what the story of VIVARIUM would be and become, I know how it starts, how it flows, how it ends. Every word in the story holds meaning.
Not a single piece of what I have shown of this universe in the past will hold a candle to what it has become.
So now, you might ask, "What happened to PF_D, then?"
It isn't forgotten. Once VIVARIUM comes to an end in maybe two or three years, PARANOIA FUTURE_DATA will be waiting.
The story of Rio Lawrence has begun as of June 10th, 2026.
The story of Rei Aoyama will be waiting.
For the future that seems so bleak.
For the words the voice couldn't speak.
